Hi, some of you might have seen some pictures of my project pony in the picture gallery. I own half of him and the owner of the other half needs to sell as she cant afford to keep him at the moment.
He is a 162 17 polish warmblood 7yo. When he came to me he had some pretty severe problems: napping, rearing, trust issues, everything really. Since then he has become a happy laid back person with paces to die for, is schooling in a correct outline and is jumping with glee. The problem is that he is at a stage where he can still revert to his previous behaviour, when you start something new with him you have to be very careful that you arent stressing him out and if you are go back to something he feels comfortable with. He plods around now like a dobbin but put in a stressful situation he could still become dangerous with the wrong handling.
Now he is very special to me but I dont see myself being the rider he needs. I am 5 foot 4 and slight and he is a chunky monkey. I event and really prefer a light tb type. So I will have to sell him at some point.
The problem is the other owner arranged for someone to come and view him, fair enough so I rode him and he was lovely, and trust me when this horse is going well he looks fantastic. The girl who came to see him rode after me and seemed like a quiet little rider, although he did have a couple of moments when he looked like he was about to kick off he didnt. She loved him but then asked to have him on loan for two months NO, and then asked if she could pay monthly for him NO. I was quite relived about this as something just didnt seem right. She didnt ask to see him trot up, didnt feel his legs, didnt want him vetted and hasnt paid a deposit. She is also young I would say teens early twenties and keeps her horses on her own yard ie: she has no support group or backup if something goes wrong. She has rung back and has somehow got the money and wants to pick him up next week.
I am not happy about this something just isnt right in my mind, can you tell me if I am making up reasons to buy him or would this make you feel a little nervous?
