Dilemma? Advice needed.

Fair enough

Back to the original question, it will take you 12 months to sort her out, so the other project horse is out of the question.

I should try in hand showing first :D :D

That's what I'm planning to do :)
I'm going to see if my friend will hack out with me down the road with her too, I personally think it's a confidence and behaviour issue with her. She is good in traffic but dislike being away from the stables (like any horse).
However I know a lot of you may not like this but I'm considering asking the owner of the project horse if she will Loan with intention to sell, Whilst I get Rosie sorted. Because to be honest I love my projects. It's so rewarding bringing on a horse. My stabling is quite cheap (£15 a week) so that's not a problem. Most of my time will be going on Rosie but i'd like to see how this project is away from his own yard too. So i'm not getting wrapped up in anything.

Actually two of mine love being away from the stables, on their own or in company, they dont care.

The other loves it with a confident rider, but put someone who is slightly nervous on her and she cant cope. Some horses take their confidence from their riders.

I am a very confident hacker, she does take confidence and reassurance from me when she's hacking but sometimes her low confidence gets the better of her.

At the end of the day if it is your money and have the cash and you are free to put in the time then go for it. However, your mother may have other ideas since you mentioned in one of your other posts that she told you that would have to sell one to get another.... be responsible and stop wasting folks time and by the looks of it your parent's money. However, I apologise in advance if I am mistaken and you pay buy all your horses and pay for their upkeep yourself. If that is the case, your money and your life...

I thought it worth mentioning that the horse has been in racehorse training until the age of 9.

It is highly likely that this will have had adverse effects on the joints as he would have begun training from 2.

He is more predisposed to premature degenerative changes and therefore lameness and injury.

Just something to think about.

I'm very much with be positive? I wouldn't sell Rosie, you say on your other thread that you wouldn't be selling this lad if you got him but really, what if he turns out worse, what if you don't click, then you've sold on a quirky older horse for the sake of an even less suitable one, just because the owners say the other horse is good doesn't mean it is.
