would love to use both in the future BUT i have heard dimaggio is sharp .
any info please

Unfortunately I have no useful information but my mare is in foal to Treliver Decanter and is not due until mid May and I think I may explode with excitement waiting for the foal to arrive!!

WOW treliver is my fav !!
good luck what mare do you have ?
the one i am intrested in putting to him is very clever and altough v talented can be awkward i hacve heard decanter is laid back??

that was intersting as reguards to DIMAGGIO will have to way up pros and cons ....
He is one of the best really like SHOWMAKER to

I liked the look of Decanter and thought he suited my mare. And as my mare likes her routines and can get rather anxious with anything new I wanted someone a little calmer temperament wise.

i really like him. whwn i have seen video clips hes not spooky, sharp or silly.
i like the fact his offspring are duel pur.
did you ise him in the end? his fert rate is very good!

I have a Decanter son - very trainable, very easy to handle on the ground despite his size (17hh+). He can be a bit hot/reactive under saddle if he's fresh but is never nasty just a bit forwards.

I am currently riding Decanter and have found him very trainable!
He is a poppet in the stable and he is a gentleman when we take him to stud and collect his semen.
I have ridden a few Dimmagio offspring and have found them all to be extremely talented! Decanter has the most laid back temperment of all of the ones I have come into contact with though, and I have heard good things about the attitude of his offspring.
I also have a yearling colt sired by Decanter who is extremely sweet as well as being stunning with huge movement!

Decanter semen is EXCELLENT quality....we have had quite a few mares in for AI that were using him and we have never had issues getting the mares in foal, and in fact he has got some very tricky mares in foal first time.

I would go for Decanter with out any question. I would love to by one of his foals if ever in the position to do so. He is a stunning stunning stallion. His paces are to die for !!!!

I have worked at the owners yard of Decanter his off spring are very easy to handle and love to be fussed, Decanter himself is laid back, i even went to a show were a mare in season pulled up next to him and he was as good as gold not silly at all. |Hope this helps.

Mat, tried to send you a PM but your inbox is full!

We have a Decanter baby due in May too from our Welsh Section D mare - liver chestnut with a huge white blaze - so we think the foal will be very striking. Our mare is a fantastic allrounder with wonderful movement so we are very excited to see what foalie is like. Our Vet commented on the quality of the semen too, some of the best he had used (full credit to Andy Pandy) and our maiden mare took first time!

Hi, I have one of each a Dimaggio 6yo and a decanter 4yo. They are both very sweet, extremely together and move beautifully. The Dimaggio horse is slightly long but very modern. The decanter mare is a much smaller than she should be. They are both trainable and love people. The huge benefit you have with decanter is the colour, however, the Dimaggio offspring are already proven. I wouldn't hesitate to use either of them but its dependent on your mares confirmation. Email me and I will send you pics matti20042005@yahoo.co.uk

I have a yearling colt by decanter - cannot be more pleased with him! He's very quick, but there is no malice at all and he's a poppet to handle. You have to give him the chance to think and work it through (which he does in a nano second!) but once he's learnt something he remembers :-) he was very sharp as a new born (only one I've had that I had to really spend time with to get trust), but has never looked back. Did his first trip in the lorry on Sunday without any fuss at all and is headed to Hartpury futurity.... so fingers crossed.

couldn't recommend decanter enough - his offspring seem to be super looking, hugely trainable and nice and tall!

Good luck!
