Got to yard tonight and started to muck out ...... horse bombing round paddock neighing etc . So brought him tied him up outside stable while I mucked out..... que much pawing the ground and then looking round stable door and hurrrumphing at me as if to say "hurry up "
So put horse to bed and drive home.

Get home get inside take off dogs lead and go to kitchen dog starts barking at me as he want's his dinner ! So feed him.......

.....collapse on sofa next to OH only for him to say "What's for Dinner ? "

But V excited as my cousin has just sold a horse to Ben Maher !!!!

LOL ! Daughter and I used to arrive home from the yard on a cold, wet winters night after sorting horses, walking and feeding dogs, feed cats, guineapigs...to find a nicely relaxed OH on the sofa waitng for his supper. Had to be freshly cooked, no convenience foods blah blah blah..
Something had to go. OH did. :D:D

Get yourself a slow cooker, packet of frozen casserole veg, some diced meat and a few herbs/wine/packet mix, chuck it together and voila - hot dinner waiting when you get home from yard.

D always has dinner ready for us.... There's got to be some reason I put up with his snoring :D :D :D

Definitely second the slow cooker! Used to do a lot of that - double portions and freeze some, made life so much easier :D
