God l thought mares where meant to be clean my filly has been living out for most of the winter but have just moved her on to a livery yard so l have more facilities so l can reback her. When she was in the field she was clean pooing in certain areas in the stable she is so dirty was using shavings but was costing a fortune so today went and got a load of straw, so well see in morning if it`s any better.
Wish l had my lill gelding back he was soooo clean what are your mares like clean or grotty :)

Corrie's nice and clean in her stable. Poos generally all intact and often in one big pile at the back of the stable, and normally pees in one place in the bank at the back as well. :)
Just as well really considering how much time she likes to spend in her stable, would soon become very expensive otherwise.

i have 2 very clean mares. One poos & pees all in one back corner & lays down at the front of her bed, & the other poos everywhere but doesnt seem to trample it in at all :D The other 2 mares arent clean, but they arent that messy either. The gelding on the other hand..... absolute mess!! lol!!

I don't think it matters if they are a boy or a girl - some are clean, some are dirty. I'm lucky as my mare poos in one big pile at the back and always pees in the same spot. The old boy however poos everywhere and seems to like sleeping on them:)

i think you get clean tidy horses of either sex, and equally you get messy, dirty horses of both sexes! hopefully she will settle in her new yard, and learn to like her stable and become cleaner as time goes by. is her stable big? or is she walking around a normal/small box and mixing it all in? its probably the change from living out all the time, to being stables part of the time.

Our mare is the dirtiest beggar in or out of the stable.
She poos and pees for england, anything up to 7 wheelbarrows from her stable per day all churned up, it's easier just to clear the lot.
Outside she finds the wettest mudhole and rolls frequently, she is a bay and was so bad, we took a photo and she looked grey with the dried mud, she's not getting out again without her rug on, I don't care how mild it is. She's 16 2 and takes some grooming

my mare can be so clean but sometimes i think all geldings on yard come by for a party omg its disgusting - well she is a tart lol. but the big lad is ALWAYS filthy. I mean he buries it, he plays in it, he spreads it AND THEN tu ns all the bed over into a heap in the middle grrrrrrrrrrr
