Dirty rotten ants

Yesterday my broodmare who is mega quiet kept bucking in the paddock, and had a few little bumps on her hind quarters, foal is fine.
I was rather puzzled as she started doing it again today, smothered her in fly spray even though no flies around.
This afternoon found a huge red ants nest, loads of kettles of boiling water and i think i got the little blighters.
Now i have a happy mare back to being quiet.
Just thought i would share my little story as i never thought ants would cause the problems they have

errrrggggghhhhh ants horrid little creatures

Why are there so many around this year

This is the 3rd nest i have found in 2 weeks, sure i got them this time but will be going armed with bleech tomorrow and that and boiling water will get the last of them

I keep finding them everywhere around the yard, copious amounts of ant powder being flung around. Havnt found any down the field yet......
