Absolutely brilliant, gets my vote!I got a bit dented about 18 months ago and can say first hand that often the only diference betwean "Disabled " and crocked up is wishfull thinking.I have gone from drag hunting to just about being able to complete a prelim dressage test without turning blue and falling off.:o. The worst part of being stuck in hospital is that it gives you too much time to think. If having such a forum helps people to discuss and face what they are experiencing ,that alone is enough reason for its existance.

Hospital can be soul destroying, even watching visitors walking away can break your heart.
Congratulations on your prelim test :)

Definately want this! Many of us have been 'crocked' to some extent at one time or another. I find many of the shared stories inspirational.

I made a similar suggestion earlier but if H&H do not wish to set up a Disabled Riders board why not post all "disabled" threads on the Video Vault board. It's hardly ever used and if it was well-populated with threads then you'd have evidence to show the powers that be that it was worth their while doing.

Actually, having just checked, Greater London in the regional boards has only ever had 71 threads on it and has the advantage that it's not on the members only section so is searchable from the web.

Given that disabled riders are recognised at Olympic level, think HH should also recognise us. We do exist, we do well & would like to benefit from others experience. After all they opened a new section for novice horse riders/owners so they were not being slated by the more experienced majority. Having been told on a forum a shouldn't be competing as I can't mount without help, & felt pretty excluded I'd love a new section. Have to say I prefer being called a para-rider rather than a disabled rider. One implies a peson who takes riding seriously at their level, the other conjures up images of RDA (not knocking them at all, but disabled riding covers way more than just this section of our community & we should be inclusive rather than focus on a single sector).

Very well put. Agree. H and h never seem to change the board according to user requests, ime

*bangs head on wall*

Either you want a resource that is useful and usable or you want to make a stand about H&H not recognising disabled riders, for want of a better phrase.

209 people voted yes - that's a drop in the ocean, IMHO if you want to make it happen you need to show that people are serious about it. 209 people lobbying HHO won't work but a thriving community posting in a separate section just might.

Who is happy to use an already existing board to post?i would be, it's better than nothing, doesn't look like we will have a new board.
