I went around the local tack shops today (the OH bought my / my horse some nice bits) and alas, there was hardly even a space on the boards to advertise for sharers. Gutted, I have asked around and everyone knows someone with a horse needing a sharer

OBVIOUSLY my boy is very special (tongue in cheek) but any suggestions to catching the eye of a potential sharer over and above anyone else?
(Friend at yard also looking but she already has 1 so I am hoping for 1st dibs or to get 2 friends to jump on board together)

I think it depends what type of sharer you are looking for and what your horse can do?

Advertise at shows/competitions etc depending on what your horse can do?
Advertise on different websites again depending on what your horse can do?

yes unfortnately with the current economic climate people are having to find sharers to fund the horse through the winter..... Is there a local riding club website?

A few years ago, I put my old boy on loan, so i could concentrate on my youngster. I put adverts up in all the tack shops, feed merchants, livery yards, riding schools, etc.

I also put adds in the village newsagents and supermarket, and it was from those that I got all the calls from, not the horsey places!

I figured the reason, for this must have been because if they hadn't got a horse to start with then they wouldn't be at a tack shop!

just a thought.

Ask any local instructors and/or riding schools, often they know of people who might be interested but aren't actively looking.

Include a pic, always helps! I know some don't so words just tend to float over your head! You could use the pic as the whol "card" and then write on top in a different colour, bold and instantly drawn to it?

Good Luck!
