Disinfecting Stable

Hi,

Going to give the stable a general clean up; best disinfectant recommendations?


The plan is to empty bedding, scrub out and leave to dry for a week.

Would Dettol be ok as I'm just doing a spring clean rather than because of illness.

How do you sweep it out, if you have a step into your stable?

I'd use Jeyes Fluid or Virkon for a nice deep clean. I have a tiny little soft broom with a short handle that I use in conjunction with a clean poo picking scoop, and it's great for getting into corners, or for when a step is a problem, as mentioned above.

I use Jeyes fluid, it smells vile so any bugs you miss just run away!!!

You need to clean all dirt out and then virkon though jeyes fluid is fine.

Green gloop always mild on the mats and safe in the enviroment .

I only use Jeyes or Virkon - mostly Jeyes these days because it's cheaper. One of the few things I miss about lab life is that my boss used to keep me supplied with Virkon.

OK sounds like Jeyes Fluid job to me, I have concrete floors so no mats to worry about. Drainage hole in stable and step up so should be easy to get the water out.

I have a good stiff brush to hand so scrubbing will be easy. Thanks all.
