So we've not had them 2 weeks yet and Bliss has managed to dislocate her off hind toe, and rupture the ligaments holding it.
Vets have prescribed painkillers and a weeks worth of rest.
How do you keep a 3 year old greyhound quiet?
Especially when her sister is trying to encourage bitey face games on the sofa??

Ouch!
Do you feed them dry food? Throwing out some dry food all over a floor, and letting them look for it one at a time, is something I've done a few times with mine, if I want to do something simple to give them something to think about for awhile. Everyone I've tried it with have quickly realised that if they rush around, they might miss a piece, or perhaps even two. And then they often need to finish with a slow sniff all over the floor, to check so they haven't missed anything.

Or bore them with training them to lie down and stay, for a long, long time, while you randomly sometimes go and give them a treat.

If they have Kongs, fill them with for example carrot puree, freeze them, and then give them to them frozen.

Other than that, my head is empty of ideas at the moment, I just hope her healing is uneventful, and quick.

Oh poor Bliss! I do hope she gets better soon.

But in answer to your question..... it’s impossible! I’ve been trying to make Ace (aged very nearly 6) rest for the past 4 weeks because he is significantly lame due to arthritis, all he wants to do is run circuits around the garden and play violent growly games with Millie lurcher ? Poor lad is getting quite depressed now (not that I’m anthropomorphic or anything ??) so yesterday I phoned the vet and said he had to start going for short lead walks for his mental health - luckily she said yes ?
