Poor baby Molly got a scare and panicked. Reared, went over vertical and landed on me. Luckily, i could see she was going to land on my head/chest, so managed to scoot myself backwards and as she came down, i pulled the right rein to get her to fall across me as she was heading to still land her shoulder on my chest. Amazing how we can slow time like that!

I don't recommend it...at all xxx

Molly is fine. Luckily as i landed in the recovery position, i was able to watch her trot off down the road, sound as a pound, then stop and wait to be picked up!

She has a teeny cut and little bald patch on her rump, but that is it...we were both very lucky really. More bits of me are starting to hurt and the lump on my back is getting bigger and squishier, but if i keep walking around every now and then, it seems to help a bit.

This has always been the one thing I have thought of as being the most dangerous way to fall, so i am very very glad i was able to scoot my top half out of the way and pull her on her side. Poor Molly Moo :-(

Youre both going to really feel it in the morning, sometimes its not till after that things seize up and tighten, you both need to take a few days then see a physio or a massage therapist to make sure everything is ok. It sounds like youve both been very lucky, the last person i knew this happened to fractured her pelvis broke both arms and her jaw

Wow, your poor friend. I'll be honest, i'm not convinced about my back and right foot. Think something in my heel is badly hurt as can't weight bear on it at all. Right pelvis very sore, but the swelling on my back is like a new person trying to grow. I pretty much have a big ball of swelling where my lower spine should be and they only x rayed that bit, but last night and this morning, i have noticed that it is a bit further up that hurts the most. Wasn't given any pain killers to bring home, but back is really bad so Dan is off to GP for me later.

We both got off very luckily and I am extremely greatful for that!

It took me over an hour to get out of bed and get dressed...can't quite manage to lift my upper half on my own....had no idea that all hurt til this morning.

Please go back to A&E and get yourself checked over again. Often in shock we don't realise which bits are bad and the hospital, usually, only bother to check the bits we point to rather than an all over MOT.

Glad ponio OK but will also benefit from a few days rest and a check over.

Nightmare situation :(

Were you one of the people that the air ambulance went out to?

They were coming to me, but then went somewhere else as i wasn't serious enough in the sense that all my obs were normal, no loss of conciousness etc. if it had been c spine pain they would have taken me, but as it was lumbar, they decided i was lower priority. There were a good few accidents at the Castle Coombe track day yesterday...had a couple of bikers in x ray waiting area with me. We were laughing because i gave up bikes as they are so dangerous, but they were saying they wouldn't go near a horse as they are so dangerous, lol.

Must say i agree with this, your symptoms are worse and you would expect to be muscularly very achey all over and sore on impact points, but get the spine looked at again immediately ...., like NOW, and highlight the heel when your there as well, and get them to give you some decent pain relief. The horse will be really sore today as well, please get it checked over as well at some point Hope you feel better soon

Well...Molly got off very lightly. She got checked and trotted this morning and was given full clean sheet of health. I literally did keep her off the ground...it has become apparent that the missing hair and little cut are actually due to one of the other horse biting her rump...the rider of that horse gave it a smack just as the rider next to me gave her pony a smack as it wouldn't walk forward and so, Molly has no injuries from the road. I know her head and neck didn't hit tarmac, i was watching closely as i pulled her to the side. H shoulders and barrel landed across me and her quarters hit the floor after, behind my bum.

I feel ok...i can move about, but just very slowly. It's really just when i lay flat on my back, there is a section of spine that isn't swollen, yet feels like someone has put a concrete ball there between me and the mattress.
