It would destroy me to think one of our dogs had been dumped in a field like that. I am gobsmacked that she only got 8 months. Vile, vile woman!
What's the story??
What's the story??
I think there are far worse frauds and crimes than this. Yes she was callous and deceitful.
Awful, but surely the vets who sent the animals bodies to her should have checked that she had a licence?
Of course there are, but this thread isn't about them.

Sometimes a sense of perspective goes a long way. Personally I don't believe she should "rot in jail" as her crime really isn't worthy of that and it belittles the crimes that are, hence my comment.
Agree with this entirely. Yes the fraud was unpleasant, but the animals were not harmed, there are many worse crimes, if this deserves 'rotting in jail' then what on earth do those who harm animals or humans deserve?Sometimes a sense of perspective goes a long way. Although obviously she deserves sentencing for fraud, I agree that 'rot in jail' is a ridiculous over-reaction. Really, why does what happens to the body even matter? The dog doesn't know anything! There are people out there who commit cruelty to living animals and don't get a fraction of the sentence she's got. That's what I find odd.
Vicky Price was sentenced for peverting the course of justice, that is an incredibly serious offence, one reason why I, for one, always find the concept of 'taking someone elses points' beyond the pale. The difference between that and providing a false alibi in a murder charge, is one only of degree IMHOWell, the reason I think 8 months is not enough is more to do with the financial fraud and deception than the emotion of it. over 3000 animals were sent to her for cremation, she has made a lot of money by lying to people. Vicky Price the ex wife of MP Chris Hulme served 8 months for taking speeding points. I just wish there was more sense in the handing out of sentences.
If you strip the emotion from this, it is very much deserving of a harsh sentence. No, I don't think she deserves to rot in jail. I actually think there are very few people that do, but I do understand how people can say such things as a knee jerk reaction to seeing something that upsets them.
