Disposing of hay

garden waste bin? in a few batches

Don’t have one. Our council charges extra for them.

Normal bin bagged up if you've space? But I reckon you'll be fine getting rid at the tip if they are only small bales. I used to take a dumpy bag of garden waste in my car when I didn't have a green bin. I don't think anyone would have noticed (or been that bothered!) if it was full of hay rather than grass cuttings and twigs!

Really hope so. I’m prepared to drive around the countryside popping some in hedgerows here and there but my OH will not be amused!

Well if the tip won’t take it it will be going around our shrubs but I had a peek at it today. It’s been covered by a tarp and the rats have made dens in it! 😳

Is it really manky?

I had a beef farmer take some round hay bales I was going to burn. Just round wrapped bales that had got damaged and weren't good enough for the horses. I thought it was to far gone for anything but he was quie grateful for it.

It not maybe bag it up and you all do a few small runs to the tip, if you can't burn it.

I'd try your local allotment if there is nowhere at home to use is as mulch / compost. I thought you had 3 round bales, which might have been a bit more tricky

Knowing my luck I'd be done for fly tipping if it was left on verges.

What do you do with left over hay in the stables then? Will she not allow that on the muck heap?
It’s grass livery only. There aren’t any stables. I am just cackling from there. She has three muck heaps! We have to put dung in the hedgerows when we are allowed to poo pick. (Not often!). It’s a mental place!

Well the latest hay lunacy is that one of the strings on a big bale of straw has been cut and yard owner thinks we have intruders as rats can’t make a clean cut and we don’t have rats!
I’ve seen the flipping rats!

ahh - those mean bad guys who sneak in at the dead of night and snip one string on a heston bale then leave again - they are such a pain !!
