My daughter loves pink and was a prime candidate for the KP range
grin.gif

She loved the rugby stripe cross country shirt.Worked an extra shift to get the money, sent off for it and eagerly awaited delivery. This cross country shirt is advertised as longer length but when she tried it on its standard length sitting below the waist and above the hips.

In the pics of KP wearing it it well below the hips sitting mid thigh, long enough to be a short dress if required.

My daughter isn't fat and usually weaqrs size 10. We ordered medium. So whats the problem? Has anyone else got one of these what is your experience?

I just couldn't stand yet another run in with Derby House
frown.gif
But it's not really what she wanted.

BTW, is your daughter tall, as KP isn't overly tall - however I did look at the rugger shirt and think "cool, a decent length one" as I AM tall, so yes please, piccy would be great!

Apologies firstly for not being a fashion guru!

Only learnt tonight in pub, that Katie Price is, in fact, Jordan?

Please may i humbly suggest that we put horse/pony welfare first? And maybe we may all consider putting our hard earned money into a better cause than Jordan's millions? And subsequent fashions?

(And may i also please comment on the spelling of 'dissapointed'. It should read 'disappointed'. )

However, my main question is - how on earth could Jordan do sitting trot?!! (Ouch!!)

Oh - and er- big question, dear Little Scribbles, is why you and your daughter feel that Jordan is someone worth following?

Surely, you, as her horsey Mum, could direct her more towards Mary King, Mark Todd, Lucinda Green, or our dressage or SJ heroes?

I only hope that all who are reading this thread give as much attention to their ponies'/horses' welfare, as they do to Jordan's page 3 things!

Best wishes, BS

Hi,

I feel I must comment about this Jordon equestrian wear. Ive only just seen it as I live in Australia at the moment. I saw the 'collection' on her website today and cant help but say-its awful. How can she possibly call that an equestrian collection ? Its a load of pink jumpers and t-shirts. Im not saying theres not a market for pink clothes but call it what it is. Just because there are horses in the photos doesnt mean its equestrian wear. I personally think its awful and will continue to support the other equestrian companies. Why does she feel the need to make even more money from images of herself looking so false and plastered in make up? I gave her the beneift of the doubt when I heard she was trying to take her riding seriously but this 'collection' is just barbie-wear.
Ive no idea whats going on in the UK with regards to press coverage of her but isnt this just another ploy by her to get on the front page? Is it being well received over there?

BS,

May I suggest that in future you read up on the person before you flame them.

I would suggest that the horse's welfare is right up there on her priorities bearing in mind she has plans for the 2012 olympics. She might not be down the yard twice a day like the rest of us but money buys the luxary of full livery and top yards meanig her horses probably are better looked after than yours.

Secondly regardless of your opinion of her fashion sense or fashion collection, the fact is there will be thousands of girly girls who will buy her stuff because they like it. Be it your taste or not someone will buy it and fair play to her I say.

Thirdly I think you will find she is a little less up front now after recent surgury so i would imagine a sitting trot is no more difficult for her than the average chesty woman and most probably easier because they will be rock hard and move very little.

Why should she direct her child to someone else other than KP? KP has proved herself to be a very succesful business woman making far more money than I doubt you ever will. She is a devoted wife and mother of 3(i think possibly only 2 though) children one of which is heavily disabled. How is that not a role model? Okay so she did a bit of page 3 stuff years ago but it's no more than the average woman shows on a sunny beach in spain so why not make some money out of it?

To my mind if the clothing range makes riding fashianble to a slightly different sector of people who otherwise wouldnt be interested then good for her because you never know one of them pink gorly girls might just end up being the next Anky or zara or whoever you admire at the top level.

Is that not the point though? She sells herself as being a real life barbie doll so the clothing range has to match. What would be the point in her haveing a range of sensible dark green and beige clothing that looks like everything else around?

Exactly. Its barbie wear, jordan wear so call it that not a new Equestrian range. Its not really equestrian clothes!! Theres no jodpurs for a start. Just dont know if she is being a bit tongue in cheek and taking the mick with it... She must be!!!!

This forum thing is crazy. Never done this before!
I must disagree with your thing about beiges and browns and all equestrian wear being the same. I dont think thats trues at all. What about Joules for example. I just love so much of the horse stuff out there from the expensive to the cheap.
I think Jordon's stuff is just so awful. Shes tailoring it for herself not the market(I hope!!! ;+).
Keep smiling ;+)

That is without a doubt one of the oddest posts I have ever read on this forum!

How on earth do you get from a post about a shirt not fitting to donating to horse welfare charities?? If we are all to 'consider putting our hard earned money into a better cause than Jordan's millions', should that not apply to all equestrian clothing ranges? What next, are you going to start flaming people who buy Toggi? Are you going to hold a little demo. outside a Joules shop because people should be saving donkeys not dressing up like a candy cane?

And whilst I am on my shock-induced little rant, how does buying a shirt from a particular brand mean that the person behind the brand is someone worth following? I appreciate this may be a difficult concept for you, but it might just be that they bought the shirt because they like the shirt.

You are truely, truely bonkers
confused.gif

Live and let live nobody has to buy this range of clothes - you have a choice . I have to admit to mocking Katie Price in the past but think she has turned herself around and lets face it made an awful lot of money !! There are plenty of worse so called celebrities out there . As for pink def not jods with the size of my backside !!

Just when you think people can't get any more opinionated along comes a thread like this one!!!

Firstly, wtf has it got to do with anyone what clothes the OP decides to buy for her daughter!, and secondly, what has a rugby shirt got to do with the welfare of any horses?? Unless you would like us all not to wear clothes, and donate all the saved cash to welfare charities???!!!!

How very odd.....

Echo this entirely. Very strange.

Now I'm probably in the minority and about to upset a few people by saying this but I think Joules is a bit tacky and would never buy it (even if I could afford it anyway

). So sorry Zam whilst I wouldn't buy KP's stuff I wouldn't touch Joules with a barge pole either. It's called free choice - each to their own huh???!

This is an unbelievably patronising post – who on earth do you think you are?!

Surely if a young girl wants to buy a pink top from Katie Price’s range it does not suggest she idolises her and wants to be a page three model. Even more ludicrously does it suggest she disregards the welfare of her horse/pony. Perhaps she is also fond of Mary King, Mark Todd etc, but unfortunately they don’t have quite such a desirable pink top in their ranges!

Maybe the author of this post spent too long in the pub last night prior to posting

Who is this Brandysnap person? Obviously not looking to be loved on here
crazy.gif

Hear hear CT. Whilst some may not "approve" of the way she made her money, KP is shrewd business women & I can think of a lot worse role models. Look at the Playboy range that so many little girls sport....

[ QUOTE ]
KP is tiny - barely 5'4" - so clothes might look a bit longer on her

[/ QUOTE ]

Really? wow I thought she'd of been taller than that, she always looks so tall....just goes to show that she must a be a quite a small lady then with her weight and size....no wonder the top looked longer on her, I like that top but was put off from getting it because I thougth it looked a bit too long.

oh well, learn something new everyday!
smile.gif

It'slike the big green-eyed monster coming out isn't it! Why on earth shouldn't KP have her own equestrian clothing range? It would have to be pink wouldn't it seeing as the whole world and his wife know that's her favourite colour!

The woman's never harmed anyone so I can't see the problem and I don't see the big difference between her range and Joules, Lazy Jacks or Tottie clothing. It's either to your taste or not. Joules to be honest now is getting rather common - everybody seems to own something with the Joules logo slapped across it! It's like the new Hackett! Oh and the prices for KP's stuff is about the same.

If you don't like it you don't buy it!

I never get how people feel free to slate someone they don't know. As far as I am aware she has ridden since she was a little girl and now she is fortunate enough to be able to afford to indulge herself. I would assume SHE was approched to do the riding wear to be honest and it wasn't necessarily her decision. She is a mother, a shrewd businesswoman and shock horror she also has a passion for horses (how dare she!).

If you feel so strongly maybe go out and design your own riding wear range and see how well you do! Oh and isn't it musto or something who are now doing bikinis? Hmm, I'd like to see someone ridr a horse in one of them!
smirk.gif

KP probably a shortie
tongue.gif
. I would send it back recorded delivery to DH with a letter explaining it isnt what you wanted. Or you could stitch a pink band around the bottom make it longer.

BS did someone put something in your tea???

Phew where did that come from?
shocked.gif

Where to start? First of all the fact that my daughter likes and wears pink has no bearing whatsoever on how we keep our horses or our views on ANYTHING.

I am going to post a pic of my daughter wearing the said shirt as that was the point of my original post. She bought this shirt to wear to college where all the young girls wear this type of thing. IMO they all look " interesting"
grin.gif
but they are young kids and are always going for different looks. FYI my daughter also has a pikeur jacket and breeches for competing and the rest of our horsey wardrobe features Mark Todd Kyra K Joules (I don't expect you like that either) and numerous other makes. Our collection is varied and we buy what we like.

Hopefully this is the pic, bit nervous about posting it now don't want to be shot down in more flames.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/Nirvana_2/Aileenpics-0197-1.jpg

My daughter is 5'8" so probably taller than KP but the point was it was advertised as longer length when in fact it is not as long as her standard length XC shirts.

Anyway any replies to OP appreciated. Thanks.

Thats strange?? its just looks like a standard XC shirt (I wouldnt mind colours like that, but think it would clash terribly with a Chestnut!!
smirk.gif
)

Maybe see if you can get in contact with DH/manufacturers and ask about sizes and say OI!! Make it longer you dopey boobs!!
smirk.gif

I like it, did she want it a bit more loose fitting? looks nice the way it is now but I guess its how you feel, is the quality nice?

me wants one
grin.gif
....and me got paid yesterday....
