I am not going to do a poll because then I can't see everyone's answer to each question, and they then get muddled up

1. Is your horse on a livery yard?

2. How long does it take you to get to the livery yard?

2) Missy & Olympic - about a minute
Allie & Storm - depeds if I drive or hack but it's about 2 miles away
3) Missy & Olympic are on DIY and Allie & Storm get looked after (they're at grass) by _Claire_

Well i'm not sure you could term it as a livery yard.I keep my horse at Bonzabeans parents farm.

It is 7.3 miles from my house to the yard so about 10-15 minutes to get there.

I am on DIY.

No i have no plans on moving nearer or further away for livery.

I have just the one horse at the moment.

15 minutes, if the traffic's light.

DIY, apart from thursdays, as my parents can't get up long enough to muck out or turn out in the mornings.

No.

5. How many horses do you own?

Three. But that's shared between all five people in my family.

2. How long does it take you to get to the livery yard? 20 minutes after rush hour, anything upto 1 hour when it is rush hour. Only down side to the yard...

3. Are you on full, part or DIY livery? DIY, but sometimes Full if busy at work, but will fetch in and feed....

4. Would you consider travelling further for the right yard if there was someone there to do the livery? Yes, as long as it was reasonably prices and they are capable of handling a 17.2hh grumpy old man and I do mean grumpy, also handy with his teeth....

5. How many horses do you own? 4 (OH says too many)

Lottie about 5mins, Mouse 20mins

Lottie is on part livery atm, will soon become DIY or Grass.
Mouse is on staff livery with me at work, i do everything but ride her during work hours

Yes, but not over 20mins away unless it was perfect

2. Anywhere between 5 mins and 20 mins (it's a mile and a half away from my house but very dependent on traffic!).
3. Part - YO does feed/hay/turnout etc in mornings and full livery is available as well.
4. Yes, so that if for some reason I was running late/couldn't get up there is someone to look after my horse in my absence. We have people on our yard who live 30+ miles away.

2. How long does it take you to get to the livery yard? about 20 minutes depending on traffic, about half hour from work

4. Would you consider travelling further for the right yard if there was someone there to do the livery? depends on cost, distance, facilities etc. I would travel a bit further to be at a better yard, but I like having my own place rented more than having loads of others around

I travel so far to the yard because my i used to live closer and moved and have never moved my gg because he is happy where he is ans on loan so dont know how much longer i have him for! was supposed to be 2 yrs but she doesnt want him back yet so hes all mine!

10-15 mins usually - I live a town so getting out of it can take a while if its rush hour.

DIY

No - I prefer to do my horse myself. In the winter I go down every day to put my horse out rather than pay someone £1.50 to do it for me even though it costs me more than that in petol and I have to get up an hour earlier. I just like to check him over, choose which rug he has on etc etc. And I get pleasure from doing him myself

Full Livery Mon-Fri (but I go and ride every night after work), DIY at the weekend.

I do - there are yards closer (5 mins away) but I need livery services

I own one and my sister who is 5 months pregnant kept on the same arrangement.

DIY, occasionally have part/assisted or full.

I have travelled further. First yard was 45 mins away and it was full livery. Second yard was about 25 mins away and assited DIY. I chose this one because the facilities were good and YO is flexible, so can help out if needed, but I wanted to be on DIY primarily. Moved house 6 months ago to be nearer.

2. How long does it take you to get to the livery yard? By car, don't drive, partner does though takes around 6/7 mins. By bus if I don't feel like walking all the way but part way is around 8/9 mins and if I walk it takes 25.

4. Would you consider travelling further for the right yard if there was someone there to do the livery? Yes if it was about the same in cost ( maybe a bit more would be ok) but it must have a school and preferably a toilet lol.
