want to share views on disunited canter issues. im just bringing a 18hh sports horse of mine through this problem (6 years)with the help of a trainer. problem down to balance with this horse. problem only on one rein.Takes a lot of patience and a lot of time. not the easiest issue to resolve. however with lots of hard work, lungeing and professional help etc you can get there. horse now coming along nicely but has taken a long time. i know this is a common problem.

Hi Ya, we have had two chiro checks within 1 year and a 5 stage vetting. The vet said cant see any reason for him doing this. just a slow progress in correction. some people i have spoken to said it has taken them a very long time to correct this problem

Thank you for sharing that with us, we would all like to see pics of your BFG

You have been pretty thorough in your investigation and balance would have been my first thought. I am still having this problem with my 6 yo who is just under 18.3hh

It does take the BFGs a little longer for their bums to catch up with the brain at this age.

My mare had this problem for a while, normally on one rein. After various checks, chiro, my position etc it was her new saddle which kept slipping to the right. Took a while to discover but once I changed the saddle - problem solved.

Do keep us updated with your boy.

wow, your horse is big. you must need high steps to mount, like myself ! i found that my position was not assisting my horse who was clearly having problems on this rein. my inside leg tended to go back too far behind the girth which was not helping with his outside back leg. As well as disuniting, i would get flying changes everywhere. This is the importance of a trainer observing your overall picture. I have got in to little habits over the years. Now trying to drop my leg and use my leg from the hip more and not the knee !! the horse has established flying changes on both rein and is now doing then when asked instead of when he wants to. I still have a way to go though but can see the light at the end of the tunnel getting very close. would love to send you a picci, have to work out how, im new to all this biz ! keep me informed of your excellent progress with your horse.
