The weather was rank but she was a fairly good girl in the warm-up and did an OK test for her first elementary (E53). Her canter is letting her down at them moment and she is genuinely finding the step-up into a more uphill frame, quite difficult.
She got 61% which included a break in the counter-canter and she tried to go medium instead of leg-yield. She bucked in one of the canter transitions too!
There were a few 7s which were spoilt by 2 4s and a 5, so very encouraging especially as she is not her best during the winter. The plan is to put the pressure on by soing some elementaries so that when we get to the regionals we can surf on what should technically be an easier test and take the pressure off allowing her to show-off (that's the theory anyway!

He hasn't been out since August last year and he was a total superstar!
Really goodboy to get ready and only one 'stallion' moment when he first went into the very wet warm-up! Settled and did two lovely novice tests.
In the first test the trot was possibly a little tense with a couple of baby wobbles and a step forward in the halt, but other than that a fluid test. He got a disapointing 64% but the scores were very low and was lying second when we left.
OH survived a school horse performing airs above the ground which was interesting!
and went in for his second test which again had some fab moments spoilt by a change in the second counter canter. He got 68% which we thought was a bit generous
but that is the way it goes sometimes and was lying first when we left but it was a massive class so not sure how he finished.
So a positive start to the new year with plenty of room for improvement!
