Well had a really good day which I suppose means it will all go wrong on Tuesday at the area!
Did prelim 16 and got 66.5% - won the restricted and was second overall. I was thrilled! The judges comments were really lovely on my sheet. I have been judged by her quite a lost recently and today was the highest mark I have had from her and at the end of my test she said: "It's getting better and better." Which made me very proud of my diva pony!

Then did Novice 33 - first time I have ridden this test on her and was just hoping to get over 60% and not disgrace myself. It was a really big class with 25 and I ended up 5th overall and got 62.3%. Scores across the class were low so I feel that it was a well deserved score for us.
Really pleased with her and me - we have come a really long way and she does really look after me and help me out.
After the area I have decided that I won't do anymore prelims as I think we are both ready to move on and do Novices.
Sunburnt and knackered but just put the BBQ and cracked open some Pinot so all in all a really good day.

Yes doing the two prelims - looking forward to it but a bit scared! Am doing some banner training on Sunday in case the arenas are a bit busy!!!!!

If he was there then he was my lucky mascot!!!! No didn't see anything spooky but when I go in the long arena now I think about what you told me!
OH and I both agreed that she needs a bit more going on in a test otherwise she switches off. So although the % was lower for the novices she is actually going better because there is a bit more going on so she doesn't drop off.
I was really pleased today. We went with my friend and her horse and everyone said that it as brilliant how far I had come given that 6 months ago I was terrified just doing a walk and trot test

He has the ride at the regionals but I am doing more and more - it has been a long slog to get my confidence back but I think we are winnning (most of the time).

I still love to watch her being ridden and competed properly! So I will still let him ride her as it is amazing to see how she can go with a pro on board!

When I get on she thinks she's having a rest day and we tootle round having fun. She takes it easy and has a leg stretch and I sweat like a pig for 4 45 minutes trying to loose some weight! It truly is a match made in heaven!

You sound like you are in a very similar situation to me. I lost confidence after a nasty accident a while back. Having never thought I would ever let anyone else compete my boy I decided to let my friend (Livery yd owner) ride him at one dr event. Well one went onto 2 more, because he qual for 2 champs the first time out. And now she is going to do some stuff at Oldencraig from September with him.
My ultimate aim in the end is to compete him myself. I ride a lot at home, much like you say, trying to lose weight and giving my horse an easier time than normal!!

Yes but we are doing the novice, i now wish I did some prelims with her as will have more of a chance of qualifying for finals but we weren't really achieving much doing prelims so went straight for novice.
We are at Patchetts on Sunday and they have the same test at Tuesday in the same order so sunday is a practise, hopefully everything will click on Tuesday. But I am getting quite disheartened with our marks at the moment, but hey thats dressage.
 
I love having a play at home under the watchful eye of OH but I also love getting her ready to compete with him - I never thought I would but I get the same buzz and same nerves watching him do it but without the humiliation - PERFECT!!!
 
I'll let you know my times when I get them tomorrow, at the moment I always seem to be first on which I am starting to hate. Hopefully we will be celebrating.
 
That is really good, and I agree that you should start doing more novice tests. Hannah sounds a bit like Diva, the harder the test the better she goes because there is more going on for her. When she affiliates (that is when we finally get her into some sort of shape post-weaning) I will probably start her at Novice straight away because in the Prelims she spends her time looking for things to spook at rather than concentrating on what I am asking

Ardingly on Tuesday. When I get some pics will post them. Sis has been away on holiday so we are lacking in photography services at the moment!
