I wonder if anybody watched the movie/read the book about Sonora Webster Carver and the diving horses?
I came across this story recently (and have put a few things together on my blog: http://freelanceinstructorsdiary.blogspot.com/2012/01/story-that-had-me-up-all-nightwild.html ) but I wonder if anyone knows of other links, books etc about it?
Diving horses was rightly banned but I can't help but find this fascinating from the training point of view...
In her autobiography, Sonora claimed they searched for months for one, two horses that were brave enough to jump/dive but there are not much detail of actual training...
To those who haven't come across it: it's a story of a girl who rode diving horses, starting in 1920s, she suffered an injury a few years into her "career" which caused blindness. She continued diving horses for 11 years despite not being able to see.
She wrote a book - "A girl and five brave horses" which I read in one night. It's hard to put down!
