Does anyone pay extra to use floodlights around outdoor school on DIY livery yard? If so, how much do you pay and for how long?
 
We paid £1 for half hour . was a box with a slot and timer. perfect if others been in not used thier pound as you got extra lol :) fair price as lights were good. shame about surface though lol
 
I'm on a smart livery yard and our outdoor lights operate on a meter. It is 50 p and you get a good 45-60 minutes for that.
 
At my old yard it was 50p for half an hour for both indoor and outdoor schools. At my current yard the outdoor school has no lights but the indoor lights are free
 
have been at two yards that have charged, one was £12.50 a month for as much use of the school & lights as you wanted. The other was £10 per month for the school plus lights on a meter at £1 for 30 mins
 
Have done on various yards. One charged £1.50 to pre book and use the school and another charged 50p for floodlights using an honesty box.
Other facilities that needed extra payment on yards I've been on, have been £1 for solarium. £5 for horsewalker and £5 for hot shower and including solarium.

I don't mind paying extra if the basic livery is reasonable. One YO's reasoning for extra charges was that many of her liveries had retired or young horses and didn't use the facilities as much as those who compete so felt they shouldn't be subsidising those who did.

I don't mind either way.
