DIY free standing saddle rack

My grandad is a skilled carpenter and looking for a project. I am in need of a free standing saddle rack. I was just wondering if anyone had done this before so I could create a design for him. I know some shapes are not great for the panels and saddle storage. Doodles welcome I was thinking of suggesting wheels and handles like a wheel barrow with some hooks for bridle and head collar etc.

It is but I wouldn't put a saddle straight on it as it will leave dents in the panels so it needs a cushion

Oh yeah defo needs some padding on it, but it was just for the kind of idea

My OH made me a simple one with strong ply (which is now a lot more expensive sadly!) and yacht varnish. He used some spare doorknobs and handles that we had lying around to make hooks and so it can be carried, the handles also make good schooling whip holders! It has been outside the stables, which are in a barn, for 18 months now and it still looks good. We spent some time measuring my grooming box and making sure the wood wouldn't dig into saddle flocking.
