diy liable for electric fencing?

Could any of you wise souls give me your opinions!
I have recently set up a small diy livery yard, and as part of the yard improvements have spent in excess of £2000 in post and rail fencing, and permanent wooden posted electric fencing to split the smaller paddocks.
One of my liveries wants to start strip grazing and has asked me to provide additional plastic posts and tape, and wondered if it would be a cheek to ask her to buy her own, as would be only for her personal use in her allocated grazing.

Oh no you don't! Her problem, her expense! And it's not just the expense of the posts and tape, the real expense is the battery pack.

If you go down that route, you'll never hear the end of it....
 
Thanks guys - as I thought, but didn't want to come across as being unreasonable!
I will add to my contract that all temporary fencing and related equipment to be provided by the client.
 
I would say as its her problem its up to her to get the fencing herself unlike my yard owner who can't give me electric fencing when thats my only fence
 
Hi, our yard has the same fencing as you describe. Any additional plastic posts and fencing is bought and erected by the livery, however if you have any spare tape or posts you could lend her either in the short or long term I'm sure would be appreciated by your livery.
My old horse was a fence jumper so i invested in the 5ft plastic posts to put round the field but the YO very kindly gave me the tape.
 
Im in a similar set up, I wouldnt have dreamed of asking YO to fork out for electric fenceing, I just went out and bought my own. God what do some people want!!
 
if we have the tape and posts then we allow them to seperate their fields....however if we havnt they provide their own...and we certaily dont provide battery power for it all :)
 
Definitely it's down to her. You might want to keep an eye on how she sets her fencing up, you don't want her shorting out your fencing in the process.
 
Ehm, it might be wise to get it in writing that its her responsibility and that she is liable for replacing batteries etc., also that she puts it up entirely at her own risk (i.e. if her horse gets tangled up in it, her fault); also that you will not be responsible if its pinched!!! Also it would be worth adding that the fencing must be maintained safely at all times coz I've seen awful fencing which has been allowed to sag.
 
Nice to see equine businesses have embraced the concept of 'delighting' their customers.
Ah, it's like a little timewarp, the equine industry, where you can step back into the 19th Century at any point.

So many yards are too controlling, so pleased to see that you allow for a degree of self management :). As others have said, she wants it, she buys it and looks after it and makes sure it's safe, etc. :)
 
Thanks for all your comments. It is so nice that people have come out in support of a yard owner, as it is a rare sight on this website!!
As I mentioned earlier, I will make an addition to the livery contracts stating that all liveries have to supply their own electric fencing equiment if required for temporary strip grazing etc.
I do not see her as that cheeky really as I do have some spare tape and posts sitting in the barn, but may need them for my own horses, so am reluctant to loan them out.
