so, i finally found a 0g turnout with detachable neck that was the quality i wanted, without the price tag - a 2 month endeavour!šŸ˜‚

unfortunately, silly old me has since realised that the amigo horseware rugs are the only ones without the liner attachmentsšŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

is there a way i can diy some in to it? even on sale and being of their cheaper range itā€™s a lot of money to simply buy another of the same weight, it wonā€™t come for another couple of weeks so i canā€™t return it yet, only option is to cancel the order which iā€™m not sure if i can and i donā€™t really want to, i really rate the rugšŸ¤£

bright ideas welcome! iā€™m trying to downsize my rug collection, so buying another outer is really quite counterproductive to my missionšŸ˜‚ more than happy to get the needle and thread out, im just not sure how to go about it!

You could put a stable rug under the turnout? Could rub tho
You can get liners with belly straps and can just throw that under or one of those straps that go around their girth/body area to keep rug in place

If you have a sewing machine, or know someone who does, this is a fairly easy fix. You'll be able to buy the components from eBay (velcro, oblong metal buckle, nylon webbing, spring clip etc), and then just sew them on at the neckline.

have just found the rectangular metal loops on etsy, less than Ā£3 for 10! i donā€™t have a sewing machine or know anyone with one, but my main concern is attaching them to the rug. not sure how to go about it ie the nylon webbing, and how to only attach it to the inside layer not the outer!

this may be a job for the rug repair/wash lady haha

To stop a liner pulling at the wither and keep both front and rear straighter I did this.

Stitch a 8ā€ long loop of 1ā€ tape or webbing above and below the neck fastening of the under rug.

Fasten the turnout front buckles or clips through the loop.

Clip the D rings of both the rug and the liner to the fillet string.

The Appy's liners came up tight - not enough adjustability on the neck - so she had her stable rug on under with no attachments.

Ponies had liners.

Guess which rubbed? šŸ™„ I think next winter it's old stable rugs under turnouts all round if it gets silly cold again

I also just attach one of my liners at the back as the attachments at the front donā€™t match up. Itā€™s not moved yet.

I have same issue and I also find you donā€™t need them. I just attach them at the back, and they donā€™t move.

thing is, it doesnā€™t even have attachments at the back! i suppose i could stick a bit of baling twine through the fillet string on both rugs to attach them together?

Does it have rings for a tail strap or leg straps? I do the same as some of the others and only ever clip them on at the back and the chest strap, even when the rug has the attachments on the shoulders. I've also had a fair few rugs that don't have the attachments on the shoulders and I just clip them on to the rings for the tail strap and never had an issue with them moving or slipping.

You could just stitch a couple loops of 1" nylon webbing to the back :)
