I have a couple of questions that I'm sure you guys will be able to help with.

I am about to take on a yard and then take on a livery, my questions are 1) where can I find a sample contract to use for DIY livery and 2) what sort of insurance will I need to take out to cover me for things like if they had an accident etc.?

Any help gratefully received.

Im not au fait myself, but I would imagine the BHS website might be a good starting point if you havent tried already....?

Good luck with your venture x

I think the BHS do sample contracts as a starting point but initially have a think about all the things you want liveries to do and not do (payment, notice periods, safety on the yard, care of their horse, childern/ dogs on yard etc.) and get a good long list into writing to go in a contract. If you search threads on here you'll find lots with people asking whether X or Y term is usual.

Insurance I'd go to a good broker or NFU to start with to at least give you what you need to be covered for (public liability for business use, employers liability, property damage, etc.)

Thanks everyone, have got a sample contract from the BHS site which I can work with so just the insurance to look at now. Does anyone have any idea of cost for the insurance?

Thanks Q105, it is a friend moving in but still want things right for all our sakes.
