Hi,

Not been on here very much since Jamin died but have recently decided to get back into the horses. I've missed being around them so much and an opportunity has arisen and I may be taking on a pony on full loan. However since Jamin died, I have moved out of Bucks and into Berkshire and have no idea where there are DIY stables. Have found lots of part/full livery but no DIY apart from Wheats Farm. Unfortunately they don't have any vacancies at the moment which is a shame as they seemed perfect.

Does anyone know of any DIY livery stables which offer:

24 hour turn out
School
Good hacking

Any help would be great. :)

Thank you

I feel your pain having spent a fair while looking in a not too dissimilar area. Where in Hants are you thinking?

Not too sure to be honest. I literally live on the border and I takes me around 20 minutes to drive to Basingstoke from my house. Willing to travel around 30 mins for a decent yard that doesn't cost the earth. I'm pretty accessible where I live, just of the M4 junc 11 and the A33.

Lottie Crockers yard in Beech Hill I believe does 24/7 grass livery, has a big indoor and hacking with a XC course - Priory Farm.

Highlands in Spencers Wood - Karen looks after that one (don't have a lastname!) is defo DIY and has a school - not sure about turnout situation up there.

Amners Farm towards Burghfield has a few schools, was DIY when I enquired 18 months ago, but seems to be electric fence individual turn out when I look at it from the M4 on the drive home.

There are 2 yards in mortimer - I've heard to avoid one, but I don't know the names of either of them so that's not a lot of help. :)

I have never been at any of these yards so not recommendations - just ideas! :)

I found a lot of DIY yards around me (near maidenhead Berkshire) are not advertised best thing I found is to get in the car and drive round I found 3 that way!! Also try your tack shops often private yards have 1 space advertised in them.

Wellington is near you by the sounds of it...don't know anything about it but done the odd hunter trial there and looked nice!
