Hiya, I am currently located in Writtle and am looking for a yard to move my 14.3h gelding. Preferably somewhere in the Roxwell or writtle area but am not having much luck in finding anywhere so anywhere within 20 mins considered. Any yards or websites you can recommend would be extremley helpful!
Thankyou in advance
Rosie

Chelmsford equestrian centre in Galleywood has a DIY yard. 2 outdoor schools, 1 indoor, jumping arena, xc, someone living on-site, all year turnout and assistance if needed.

Norton Heath is out that way isn't it?

I used to have a horse on livery somwhere near there but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called, there was a big house that used to have a shoot there.....I will have a think :confused:

There's the three lightfoots yards, elm farm, skreens park farm and thatchers all in Roxwell, plus Jubilee Farms (I think there's two, side by side?) in Newney Green and a nice farm yard in Newney Green too. There's also a yard on the road between Newney Green and Roxwell, but I don't know if they do DIY. There's Mashbury Hall on the other side of the 1060 and Dyers Hall in one or other of the Chignals. There's also Newlands Hall on the 1060 just past Boyton Cross. There's lots of yards, most of them advertise in the Essex Rider or ISC... Depends exactly what you're after.

When I was at Uni in Writtle I used to keep my horse at Elm farm in Roxwell, me and my friend were there for 3 years. Lovely yard, lovely people definatly worth a look if its still the same as it was a few years ago.

Hi

am also in a similar predicament! need space for 2 - 3 horses so am finding it a little tricky!

If you are still looking i have the following info;
Elm Farm had no vacancies when i enquired
Masbury Hall 1 vacancy

Does anyone have any contact details for Newland Hall? 01245 231 016 doesn't work!

Hi - My name's Claire and I was at Newland Hall with my horse, Gatsby, twenty years ago as well - best place ever!! Hacking for miles and miles - who are you, do I know you!?!! The yard was run by the Mitchells at the time. Then I went back there later when the yard was run by Sheila and Ann.

If I were you and I wanted DIY livery I would put my name on the waiting list at Elms Farm. When I was there it was really well run and the turnout was good.

Hi, yes moved back to Brentwood when she strained her tendon. Never found anywhere as good as Roxwell for hacking though. Sadly lost Gatsby in 2007 but she made it to 27 though.

Was doing a search online and came up with this conversation. You may not even look at this still as it was a year ago. Claire is this you? This is Sam who had Piglet at Greenacres where you lost Gatsby and Rugby with Juliet at her yard down Weald Park lane. How are you? Do you have another horse? I moved Piglet from Greenacres not long after you lost Gatsby. I sold him last year and now have a youngster who I am trying to find a local yard for. He's currently where he was bred but thats in Suffolk so a bit too far away. Hope you are well anyway x
