Hi everyone
I'm moving to Weedon, Northants in a couple of months and need DIY livery from beginning of August for my mare. Need individual turnout, stable, manege (pref indoor too but I know that's asking for a lot), access to hacking and ideally assistance available on an ad hoc basis, for those days when I over-run on a shift etc.. Any ideas/recommendations?

Thank you!

Really nothing out there? Any suggestions of what I need to cross off my 'wish' list? I could manage without the hacking if I had to..... What about something a little further afield? I don't know the area well but I'd be ok with travelling up to about 15 miles.

Fingers crossed there is something out there! If not, perhaps there's a business opportunity for someone! :-D

hi there is no livery in weedon-i would rec my farm but no inv turnout-we have paddock for flatwork? otherwise there are some about 10/15 mins away-little brington stables and gayton are very good!

Hi Sunshine100*
Thank you for your replies! My mare needs year-round turnout - she gets very unhappy if she's stabled for long periods. I am still looking for livery - so many places have no vacancies. Do you have more details about the yards in Little Brington and Gayton? Just a name or a phone no. would do. Thank you :-)

I'm in NN4 and I've just moved mine to East Lodge at Courteenhall. Its about 10 miles from Weedon. They only do assisted DIY, which means they turn out every day and do full livery 2 days a week. Its a lovely yard, and the hacking is amazing! You canhack to Salcey Forest, and the rest of the hacking is either off road or very quiet roads. Theres an outdoor, but no indoor. And the stables are lovely! Very post Monarch boxes.

My boy has been pretty much on full livery sicne he moved there a few weeks ago, as I've been moving house. But I'm very happy with how they have looked after him :) When I asked for yard recommendations no on had a bad word to say about the yard :)

Yup :) They are in overnight, or in in the summer during the day if you prefer, but they have turn out 365 days a year, just not 24/7 in summer. If your interested I'd contact the YO and have a chat, shes lovely! Shes looked after my boy the last few weeks better than I would have done, and shes very focused on the horses best interests. She has a couple of liveries that she spends all day moving from the grass to grass free turnout as they are fat :)

Honestly, I absolutely LOVE the yard! I've been chatting to my OH tonight saying "whats the catch??" Because if there isnt one, and so far I have seen no sign at all, then its horsey nirvana! I've been up on full livery days and hes better looked after than when I do it! He had the saddler fitter today, they caught him in, held him for her, got his tack out, rode him before and after and then turned him back out. They then text me straight away to tell me what she had said, and when I went up tonight they came over to tell me all about it. The other liveries are lovely as well. Its the happiest I have ever been at a yard. I have literally no complaints at all! For me, its mad horse ownership so easy and pleasant, which is a revelation! It costs me about £20 more a week than total DIY, but actually less than paying for services on DIY. Tell her Vickie with Frankie recommended the yard. I *think* theres still a space :)

I'm in NN4
Definitely hijacking the post to say that FrankieCob we must be somewhat neighbours! Same post code!! I keep mine at Allworks opposite the Marriott hotel - which is at full capacity, hence why I need to shift current horse for new pony to come! XD small world!!

I'm just off the mini roundabout. I love it here! I moved from MK as we couldnt afford to buy there, and its actually turned out to be so much nicer and so much better for horsey stuff, despite being just outside of the town centre
