DIY or part Livery

I am in a pickle and need some advice pls.
I am currently on diy at a part livery yard with 2 others on diy as well.
The yard has gone under new management and the new owner has offered me 2 choices but only till monday to decide.
first choice to stay on DIY but start poo picking or pay yard to poo pick for me (they currently do it all as so many on part livery). Also possiblilty that my horse may have to change fields and make a complete diy field. (mix girls and boys)
second choice go on part livery cost about another 75pound a month and have mucking out done.
I work odd hours so the second choice is appealing as it will take the pressure off me in the winter, rushing about. however i am worried about the money and loss of control over my horse.
has anyone got any opinions on what I should do?
 
What do you get for your money on DIY and what do you get for your monet on part livery? it will be easier to work out if its worthwhile if you can see what the benefits are. I have had horses on both and they both have pros and cons....
 
hi shadowmonkey with diy i get turnout and stable and currrently do not have to poo pick although this will change. with part livery i will get turn out bring in muck out feed and shavings and field poo picked for me.
what do you think?
 
Hmmmm i remember you said it would be £75 per month more? So thats about £17.25 more a week. To be honest thats not much more a week- and just think of the time you will be saving in the winter/lie ins when its cold and dark, but yes, you will find that you are less in control of your horse, but dont forget it is still yours so anytime YOU want to do something yourself you can. I suppose you will have to weight up how difficult you will find handing over the responsibility to others. For me if I could find part livery for that kind of money where I live I would snap it up- being safe in the knowledge that if something happened at work my horse would be happy and safe and fed.
