DIY Prices?

I've just been told that I can no longer do 5-day livery and that the prices for 7-day livery have gone up by £200, to £606 per month! My only option is to do DIY, but that is £42 per week for just a stable. How do these prices compare with your yards? I am in Hertfordshire. To me these price increases seem a little excessive and unfair. Any comments?
 
Mine went into livery for a couple of months over the winter. I was charged £10 a week per pony for just grazing and £25 a week for a stable and grazing for the horse. All feed, bedding etc was extra although I could buy both on-site. Haylage was £25 for one of those huge oblong bales; straw was £12 for a huge round bale (two lasted me 10 weeks) The yard is on the north-west side of the New Forest.
 
Depends on the yard and what you need. Some do charge those sort of amounts.
I pay £145 for DIY inc Straw, hay or haylage in Herts.
Then £210 on top for services for 5 day.
Not a posh yard though.
Be curious to know where you are - PM if you prefer.
 
I am in Sussex and our DIY rate is £95/month. This includes stable, turnout and use of floodlit school only. £42 a week just for a stable does seem a bit excessive!!
 
Mines £38 a week with no bedding or hay
we get use of 4 schools tho all with jumps and fillers + wash down areas and individual storages.
 
mines £22 a week, stable grazing, induvidual field, if want straw its £3 a week. haylage or hay bought on site. indoor school, field with jumps. we in s staffs
 
In hertfordshire for me its £27 a week which inc. stable, turnout and use of school. I find usually for stable field and grazing it is usually between £27 and £35 a week near me, so yes just for a stable i think what you are paying is extreme!

I am near Epping/Harlow and pay £30 for my stable, grazing, use of the indoor school and storage areas for hay, bedding and feed.

It is then £1.50 to have my horse fed, turned out with rug change and later put into the stable and given their ball and hay. I leave out hay and feeds, so they just need putting in.

I provide all hay, bedding and feed and also pay £2.50 a week to have my trailer parked at the yard.
 
I pay £100 a month for stable, 24/7 turnout, use of outdoor and indoor arena and jumps etc.
Pay for everthing else extra, Ad-lib haylage £10 a week, straw £15 a large bale.

My yearling lives out and i pay £5 a week for grazing + field shelter and through the winter another £5 a week and haylage goes in the field.
 
I think it depends on the facilities, I pay £140 per month for the stable (which doesnt include feeding or turning out) but it does include use of two schools, jumps and lunging arena.
 
In Bristol you can diy at leyland court (www.leylandcourt.com)
for £28 per week, which I think is a bargain for all the facilities, I would love 3 arenas, large play pens, full xc course, xc training fields, derby arena, horse walker, all year turnout etc for that price (shame it takes to long in rush hour!)

In South Glos the average is £20-25 for stable, turnout, good hacking and outdoor arena (obviously some places will be much higher/lower)
 
I pay £14.50 a week with a stable, own field (all year turnout) , storage area, use of an indoor and outdoor school, about 8 jumps and plenty of hacking.
All hay, bedding and feed is seperate.
 
I pay £130 per month for pure DIY in summer (which also includes either TO or BI mon-fri). Currently paying £210 per month for a version of assisted DIY. This includes stable, grazing, TO and BI mon-fri plus mucking out mon-fri. Bedding is extra, ad lib haylage is £40 per month (though I have 50/50 hay/haylage). All packages include use of arena with full set of SJs and arena XC fences, arena lights is £2 per month extra, horsewalker is £3 per session (or FOC if you're on full livery).
 
I pay £20 p.w for stable & grazing. We have individual paddocks, secure tack room, area in barn for storage of hay/bedding/feed, 45m x 23m turfloat floodlit arena, lorry parking, kitchen & toilet. We buy in our own hay/feed/bedding etc.

There is a groom on site who will provide turnout/bring in, mucking out, clipping etc for you if you wish. You pay her direct. There's always a waiting list for this yard.

£42 - blimey!! Its £22 at our place for DIY although I think that may go up a bit this year. We have fab hacking, a 20x40 school and lunge pen plus year round turnout. Only includes stable tho, no extras.
 

I pay £20 a week for stable, grazing and unlimited hay & straw. I rarely use stable or straw as horse lives out.

I know it's prob a bit dearer in the south, and you may have facilities on your yard (I am on a farm and have nothing at all), but £42 a week for stable & grazing is a rip off.
