DIY show jump wings?

After my OH made some agility jump wings for our dog, he's said he'll make me show jump wings if I get in the materials. Can anyone suggest any good designs (with measurements for the right width of wood etc.)? Nothing difficult as my OH isn't exactly what I'd call a skilled joiner but they have to withstand wind as we live atop a hill! Also wondering what the best way to attach cups to them would be other than the usual drilling loads of holes idea?

Failing that, what about cementing the uprights into scrap car wheels? They've got the weight so won't be blown over then.

You can get keyhole tracks to attach to them and use those to hold the cups but they're not cheap; so those + cups for a whole course of jumps....well! http://www.countrysideshowjumps.co.uk/product/fei-keyhole-track---plastic
