Firstly, thank you so much to everyone who made suggestions and tried to help, means a lot :D

So, this morning we went armed!

Changed the crank for a loose cavesson, and although the crank was loose, once the cavesson was on she went better :D

Then... we changed the Myler. I had found the straight bar D-ringed Happy Mouth that she came with, so tried that...

...she was like a different horse!!! :D So, so, so good :D :D :D :D. Head practically stopped 'arguing', she lightened off the hand, went forward better off the leg :D :D :D :D

*MrsM bounces bouncingly round the room, spilling mugs of hot choccy with carefree abandon*

I rode, then D1 rode so's I could watch from the ground :D :D :D. Good for her as well :D. For the first time we got good canters round the school and I could admire Dizz's mane as it flowed, rather than the tatters of bits of mane that used to be flapping about all over the place :D

Oh I sooooooo happy bunny me :D :D :D (I bet the system won't let me post this there are so many smilies in it lol).

Still think the saddle needs looking at, so that's next Tuesday. Physio will be out next week as well :)

Going to get one of the webbing bitless bridles, just to try it and see what Dizz thinks. I looked at the Myler - there are (I think copper) sections in the Myler that sit on the corners of Dizzy's mouth, and that's where she rubbed most, so maybe an allergy?

Will ride again on Thursday and we have everything so tightly crossed that it wasn't a flash in the pan :)

Very pleased for you. Didn't have any suggestions for you yesterday but glad things were much better today.

HP - thank you :D. Sunday was close to calling it a day with her - if she had tried to get me off (which she would have succeeded at easily!), or if she had bombed off with me, then it would have been the end. So this morning meant the world to me :D :D :D

Yay for the dizzy one

Sure it wasn't a flash in the pan, think positively and I look forward to seeing another happy post on Thurs.

I'm afraid I had no suggestions for you yesterday but so glad to hear shes being a lovely horsey for you today :)

Good luck for thursday!

Yay! Delighted to hear it!! ...may I ask why you don't want to keep her in the HM snaffle is she is going so well in it?? (sorry if I missed something :p )

I havent been on here for a while so have no idea what Dizzy has been up to, but Jack went very badly in a crank noseband, also done up loose, but a cavesson back on and he was a different horse. I know alot of horses that are the same.

AB - ta hun, will let you know :D

KK - thank you! :D

S1 - ta muchly :D

C - when I got Dizz, she was 'interesting' to say the least lol. A major change for her coming to our yard and our lives. She would spin, and back up (at great speed!), I thought that it would be better to have something with more control :o :D. Also, the HM is quite thick and I do feel that I can't feel her mouth as well, but now... well I love it! lol :)

C55 - it was certainly a contributory factor :( Bad me :( I thought it would help reduce the jaw crossing, without being as restrictive as the Mexican grackle (which she told me to bob off and fly with when I tried it!). Will certainly bear it in mind for the future!

K - ta hun :). I was thinking of your wise words this morning :D. Dizz was still dipping her head back behind the vertical, but as the last few months worth of work have been almost wasted :(, we'll be starting again, so I was working on encouraging her to go forward :). She did go along with her head up (poll highest point), but was happy to stretch down when the rein was loose :). Will be interesting to see what instructor says on Saturday... Oh, forgot to say, Thank You for the explanations yesterday - when the physio comes I'll ask his advice. He is the one that got me Pessoa'ing Dizz (advising how, etc.) to build her muscle structure to take my weight :o

B - ta hun :D Will keep you updated :)

M - ta hun :). And there I was, thinking I was doing the right thing by Dizz, getting her what seemed to be the best available. Ah well. Will think twice next time! Then again, she didn't like the Waterford (to stop the leaning), nor the Pelham (out of interest re. brakes), nor the Hackamore. She knows what she doesn't like, even if we're not sure yet as to what she actually Likes :D

What lovely news...for both of you, glad it came together so much better this morning with the changes. Long may it continue..:)

Well done, that sounds good. Long may it last too!

Very interesting what you say about wanting more control, but actually less is more... daughter's pony tends to steam off like a tank if he gets hyper about jumping (which he loves) Discovered today thanks to a suggestion by her instructor at the RS, that when he does it, if she chucks the reins at him (which isn't her instinctive reaction!) he instantly slows down

Thats fab Mrs M. Well done you. Some would have given up long before now. Horses are for enjoyment and in my case, relaxation, so when it goes whoop whoop, it can be really soul destroying. Everything crossed that it is now sorted and you can enjoy the Dizzy 1. xxx :D

MD - ta hun :)

D - thank you :). Horses are so much fun!

C - lol, don't do 'give up' (though maybe sometimes I should!). Back man comes tomorrow, so that should be interesting :D. He makes me laugh :D. Hopefully I will have ridden in the morning and all will be well....

Sounds like she likes the happy mouth.

I am so pleased that there is the light at the end of the tunnel for you:D

Will keep everything crossed and send calming thoughts wafting in your direction :)

*Passes Mrs M a large hot choccie to fortify her for the morning*
