Anyone?

My horse has been diaganosed with chronic DJD, he has had one treatment with Tildren but is still lame and uncomfortable.

Has anyone had a horse who has come sound and if so did they stay sound and what sort of ridden work were they able to do?

Thanks

If DJD (Degenerative Joint disease) is the same as bone spavin then yes my horse came sound with Tildren x 3, adequan and intra articular joint injections (HA and Steroid). Best advice I can give is to throw everything at the horse whilst your claim is open, so he has the best possible chance of success.

Also get him onto a decent joint supplement (which is proven). And finally get a physio to check him over and make sure he isn't lame on other limbs from over compensation from his spavin - they are often lame on their diagonal fore limb.

Thanks yes it is the same as bone spavin, I only have 2 months left on my claim as he was orginally diagnosed with back issues and slight problems with one hock. The other problem is that his xrays show low bone density and bony spurs on the top of his canon bone.
