hi was looking into AI for next year and its a complete minefield!

one question that i do have is this: if you go for AI and you receive your covering certificate... you still need to do a dna test?

covered in hand last time so didnt have to worry about these kind of things but really want a different stallion next time to produce an allrounder

don aqui
wolkenderry
amarouex

are the 3 in mind but please feel free to give me more stallions

mare is black han x ssh

thanks :)

Of course some stud books are different but as a rule as long as you have your covering certificate confirming the sire, etc then you shouldn't need DNA unless you were to present for a studbook grading, etc.

Out of your 3 suggestions Don Aqui as he has stock proven in all spheres and you say you are looking to breed an allrounder.
The other 2 stallions are performing as dressage horses with Amouroux competing at the higher level .
This is btw just factual info i'm not choosing a preference on grading ,type or anything else

I think the DNA would all depend on which society you wish to register the foal with. All of mine for example are registered with SSH and whether natural or AI they have to be DNA tested to prove parentage (one was natural covering and the other AI) . As for the stallions I have recently come across Wolkenderry when looking at other options for one of my mares for next year and have fallen in love with him, everyone i have spoken to about him have not had a bad word to say about him so im pretty swayed towards him at the moment. I do however have a soft spot for Amoureux having used 2 of Solaris stallions in the past but i dont have a mare to put him to unfortunately but i do like him a lot.

oh no! its so hard and just such a serious decision to make! its actually worse than sitting while my mare had this years foal :D

i need to get it right, i wish i could meet these guys in the flesh but believe 2 of my 3 are down south :(

anyone got any foals from any of the above 3? feel free to pm me :)
