I'd like to get my boy a fleecie or a cooler or both rolled into one to use in winter for wicking away sweat and after baths, -
but the current fleece attracts straw like a magnet! Also since he's shed summer hair it has all stayed on he fleece and wouldn't come off in a wash/brush/whatever! any recommendations on a decent looking/working product?

The waffle coolers dont seem to collect hair like traditional fleeces. You are right, the hairs dont wash off or out and problems are caused by this when people put fleeces under stable rugs that arent nylon lined. The fleece then gets hairs on from both sides. I have a Mark Todd Deluxe fleece which is a slightly different fabric on the outside and hair doesnt seem to stick to this the same. Grey horses are the worst hair losing criminals, clip them and its not as bad. Thats what I do with mine. To get hair off your fleece get some strong packing tape or masking tape, cut some off and wrap around your hand and literally pat the fleece all over, this will go some way to hair removal.
