Do all geldings drop to pee?

My friends gelding was getting in the stance to pee, but she wasnt sure if he was peeing or not. To cut a long story short, she brought him in for the day and checked him throught the day. In 6 hours he had pee'ed twice or so which was good. As she was leaving for the evening, he was in the field, got in the stance but didnt drop to pee.

She has recently cleaned him and he is shy with his bits anyway. But just wondered, is this normal not to drop to pee? It may have been this one time but who knows, she will have to set up 2 hr camp up there!

Thank you for the replies, so is it anything to worry about? Someone said that pee can drip back into the sheath pouch and eventually cause swelling etc.

nah, i think it just means more gunky smegma *sigh* Just doin' what comes naturally

How often do you clean them? Obv you dont just look for beans but clean the hole of it as well?

mine does sometimes not regularly though!
