I have on going problems with my right knee aggrivated by the cold so im after a pair or waterproof AND breathable trousers that i can pull on over my jods and wear around the yard ( i wont ride in then tho ).

I do have a pair of waterpoff ones but i get soaked in sweat inside them.

They would also come in handy as i do mobile clipping so wouldnt get so hairy.

Another lady at my yard has suggested ski trousers and said you can wear them all day skiing and you dont sweat.

Can anyone reccommend some that will keep the rain and cold out without making me sweaty inside them?

Ive got some that i bought from Olympia last year! They are wind proof and water proof and made from some fantastically modern material! Not sure of the company but the label says Horseback and the material says Techtex. Dont know if googling will help.
I ride in them too. Think they were about £30 but cant remember- know they werent extortionate.

I've got some goretex ones that I used to use when climbing - the 'proper' outdoor gear is usually better than the stuff made for us horsey people.

Joules all the way!! I got mine for a tenner from YHL in 2006, ride in them all the time, wear them every weekend in the summer before shows etc, whenever it rains, over my PJs in the mornings...

Have even been known to wear them with just underwear beneath

They've got a silk type lining so keeps you cool/warm whenever. Have never been so pleased about any pair of trousers ever before!! Mine always split down the inside seam within a week or so, but these have outlasted my hunter wellies!

Joules are not stocking them on their website, but have found them here:

I think Derby House have just bought out some thermal jods which are breathable, waterproof, windproof etc. About £50 from memory.

I have got somer Cotton Traders fleecy lined waterproof trousers, they are lovely. Not just pull ons, they do up like jeans. Very cosy and they fit like jeans, not all baggy and flappy.

I've got Toggi Extreme ones, they are fab and you can ride in them if you want. They are thin but waterproof and windproof so you don't get too hot. xxx
