do cub saddles need fitting?

I'm guessing you mean the normal ones with the velcro adjustable pads? I've always just done it myself, if you follow the basic rules for saddle fitting on the typical small ponies they're used on it's hard to go wrong. I've never heard of anyone using a saddle fitter for one, given the fact most kids who ride in them are way under the ponies weight carrying ability it's less specific than a real saddle. If your not sure of basic saddle fitting principles just ask someone who is to have a quick look.

I would just set the velcro panels to give clearance for the spinal processes, give height clearance over the wither, but then do check the front to back balance - I recently quickly checked one that was way down at the back and this could cause issues with all but the very tiniest riders - their weight should be well spread, not concentrated.

Sbloom- fair point. I'm not a saddle fitter so my relatively small experience has been fitting them to small flat backed no wither ponies that a plate would sit flat on, so I'd never considered on a normal shape pony it may drop at the back.

As above. My saddle fitter was doing my mate and I asked her to look at the cub for my sons sec a. She said was ok at current weight but would def have cantle pressure point with more than a lightweight three year old riding.
