Do eventers like coloureds or does the bay gelding reign supreme?

i dont think it matters if i horse is coloured or not if it can do it then its fine.

i do think there is some serious racism out there at the local level and higher up. i think a black horse or a bay horse or a coloured horse can be a gorgous horse

Im partial to the odd bay,my retired boy is bay.At the end of the day as long as it moves well,is sound and can do the job, it doesnt really matter. But I think horses have the edge if they have something about them ie well marked coloured, a big dun :p, a chestnut with stockings or extraordinary movement as I think judges are drawn to them, but that has been my experience in the horse industry.
If you flip it around though and were judging ie WH class of 6 coloureds and one bay,all of equal movement,I cant say my eyes wont creep to the bay bacause it stands out....off on one, sorry ;)

I think if you've had or known a good horse you gravitate towards similar colour/stamp horses. I would have happily had another coloured after Henry as he is such a dude, however Mally originally caught my eye as she looked so like my friend's mare, who is awesome!

And after having the old lad up for a few days, I can honestly say he is far easier to keep clean than Mally! Although it is lovely not to have to bath to go show jumping, as Hen was always clean, but not quite clean enough, whereas Mally shines even if she's been covered in 3 inches of mud (which is pretty much all the time!).

Having owned a piebald year ago I do like coloured horses, but Pegs was a real messy moo, I used to dream about green hocks, so I joke that if I was to have another coloured I insist on the hocks not being white:D
