ok so this are some pics of my boys feet, i'm convinced that they are to big, they were cut 2 weeks ago, by a brilliant farrier so i'm not querying his work, he has a problem with his feet ect grown very quickly.

so do they look to big?

IMO the bigger the frog the better, I get my farrier to only take of any loose bits. I hate to see horses with the frog trimed back to much.

thats ok then i am very paranoid because they were left for a few months over growing the shoe by my old farrier, causing him quite a bit of pain.

thanks for putting up with my worry lol

Lol! They look tiny to me but then I don't have any of my horses shod so they all have fabulous well spread-out frogs

. Frog should always be in contact with the ground - they're horses shock absorbers.

Tia you made me laugh, I was just thinking the same thing - not only do I have barefoot horses, but ones with big hairy feet.

Personally as other have said, bigger the better. When I did have my horses with shoes, they only had any loose bits trimmed off.

his foot is completely mishaped due to the stress of bad "remedial" shoeing, so with a bit of luck in a few months i'll stop being paranoid and it will sort itself out
