Do horse/farm removal house move companies exist...?

Thinking ahead - I'm hoping to move within a few months, but I've got an awful lot of stuff to move and no horse transport at the moment.

House contents
Compact tractor & implements
Set of showjumps
Gym equipment
2 horses & associated stuff

Are there companies which specialise in this sort of thing? We could use a normal removals co for the house, but would it be a question of arranging separate people for horses & tractor, or would anyone be able to do it all?

It's exhausting just thinking about it, tbh. When we moved here, it was from a 'normal' house, & all the horse stuff we moved separately a few days later from their yard in my lorry, and we didn't have a tractor. Doing it all at once is rather daunting.
 
When we went abroad a company called interdean moved us nothing would have phased them .
However if I had to do what you describe myself I know exactly who locally I would go it . I think a good locally based removal company is what you need .
As long as you prepared to pay for their hassle I don't think it will be hard to get sorted .
 
Okay, maybe I need to get looking locally then & get someone provisionally lined up. (Hard to google as 'removal' and 'farm' or 'horse' comes up with fallen stock.)

Can't borrow a trailer as I drive an Aygo & don't think it would tow a tractor! Might work better the other way around!
 
you could hire a 7.5 for a day or two to move horse and associated stuff. And a low loader or flatbed could easily shift your tractor. We moved 3 years ago, used a normal house mover and did all the big outdoor stuff ourselves in my old 7.5. Shortly affterwards we bought an old Massey Fergusun from a sale and a mate collected it with a flatbed trailer on the back of a defender. All very do-able.

Sorry, that's me not reading the compact part of the tractor, I was thinking the tractor could do the towing for you but obviously not!
 
Having done the same type of move several times, in my experience, no.
Flatloader for the HGV, House removal for the home and specialist Horse Transporters (or own lorry) for the neds.
Each arrived on agreed dates, loaded up and drove off with us meeting them at the destination for unloading.
 
Following because I *hope* to be in this situation in the next year or so. I will hopefully be moving locally so one agent suggested when I sell the yard I could lease back part for a few weeks while I move all the "stuff" that goes with horse ownership, including my quad
 
Moving from South Cambs to 'somewhere' in the Midlands, but I'm trying to do the spadework now to get organised rather than having a mad panic when there will be 1,000s of other things to deal with. Also needing to think about a temp home for horses & dogs just in case I'm 'between homes' for a few weeks, etc. I think (hope!) that if you make lots of contingency plans, then it means you won't need them...
 
I would get a removal company to do house and other things gs then maybe hire a horsebox or get some quotes for someone to pick them up and deliver for you, we hired a small horsebox when we moved to take the horses and there stuff we also used it to take much of our house items as well but we didn't have much bulky furniture to move.

We used this company to move from South coast to West Wales very professional and efficient.
they moved 5 horses in an air condioned horsebox with cctv and groom.Contents of a 3 bedroomed cottage ,quad bike roller topper harrows full set of horse show jumps garden furniture 10 stone pots still planted up! contents of the tack room saddles bridles rugs 3 large feed bins and on a low loader 3 horse trailer and saloon car a convoy of 6 lorries we went ahead with our land rover towing our caravan.
They packed everything up on the Thursday we stayed overnight on our caravan they loaded the horses at 7.30 am on the Friday drove in convoy to the new house and were completely unpacked and set up to have supper at 6.00pm on the Friday.
Their team of men packed and unpacked everything NO breakages! horses walked of cool as cucumbers after a 6 hour journey.
Excellent service no worries!

Incredible! I'm going to keep this place in mind!

Can I ask if they were very expensive? No need for numbers...just an idea.
 
We had 9 men and 6 vehicles (4 removal lorries 1 luxury horsebox and 1 low loader) for 2 whole days the journey was 260 miles .We found it was good value considering we had to do NOTHING they did everything I didn't have to empty wardrobes or drawers everything was carried on as it was.They had electricity hook up so the freezer could stay frozen on route.
When we calculated our time and all the diesel too do it in shifts it was much nicer to get it all over and done in one go.
it was about £5,000 .We were living in one house one day and the next day living in the new house all unpacked all we did was direct the furniture to the correct rooms In fact we were ready for visitors on the Saturday.

Wow, they're going in my little book! No packing or unpacking...that's worth £5k and more! Not dreading it all so much now. The packing/unpacking/faffing was looming large! Thank you so much! :)

Yes!!! I'll need to know who they are when the time comes - I'm dreading moving me, the horses, the dogs and cats and all the paraphernalia, that sounds like the perfect solution. Do you think HMRC would reduce the stamp duty to enable me to be able to afford that????
 
We moved 7 years ago so price was then.We also moved cat and 2 dogs.
It really was the easiest move ever we sent an inventory of each room and inventory of all the farm stuff tack room and horse paraphernalia .We didn't want to drive separate cars and as the horse trailer had to go they put the saloon car and horse trailer on a low loader and it joined the convoy.We moved a lot of pots and troughs from the garden they were planted up carried on the van and carried off the other end .The only thing I emptied was the kitchen cupboards.
I must say moving lock stock and barrel 260 miles was worrying me until I found them it was all over and done in 2 days.
 
I just want to say thank you (a million times over) for the Brookfields recommendation. I was having a head in the hands moment earlier when thinking my move (house, horses, chickens, 350 plants and an incapacitated OH) from Surrey to Wales at the end of October.

I feel much more hopeful now!
 
We are relocating too. We are going with a local removal company for the house contents. We're taking the horsey gear up in the horse trailer on moving day and I've got a local horse transporter ready to move the neds.

The one thing I'm not sure about is when to move the horses. It's tricky as one of my girls will only load for me so it's possible that on moving day I'll need to come back and stay overnight at my parents and help load the girls up in the morning and travel up with the transporter.

The good thing is that my parents live a minutes walk from the horses' current field so if necessary I could keep them there an extra week while we sort the house out.

Logistically, their is just so much to think about it makes my brain ache!

ETA: Apparently the removal company are going to pack up on day one and then travel up and unload the next day which makes it easier for me as I can supervise the removal men and then travel up with the neds on moving in day! :)
