I've just had my ponio's jabs done and the vet that came was lovely but sooo tall, am thinking 6'6'' and the foal did a double take and skitted away from him appearing quite scared. We calmed her down and the vet was very gentle with her but she wasn't keen.

Next we went to my ginger boy who was in his stable and the vet stood in the doorway , blocking out the light LOL and horsey wouldn't be caught to have his head collar on so i asked vet to leave stable and hide and ginger boy was fine to have his head collar on but as soon as vet appeared again he was on edge.

Old boy was fine, he's accepting of anyone.

All ponio's have been fine with other vets and jabs so am wondering if its a height thing.

Any thoughts

They don't seem to mind William Fox-Pitt!

Sure it was probably a vet thing.

Could be a bit of both if they aren't used to tall people.

Vets have a 'smell' one of our livery's (who is a vet) came up to do her horse still in her vet coveralls one day and some of the other horses were snorting at her & others went to the back of their boxes and hid from her, it was so funny!.

The first time my oh (6'3") met bailey I shouted him to the gate, he cantered across the field then as he got quite close, noticed oh, stopped dead, turned and galloped away in a right panic! I'm only 5'0 so there's a fair difference!. He's fine with OH now he's used to him.

I'm 6', which for a girl is pretty tall. My horse seems to like me well enough...

The little mare that I used to have, however, cowered in a corner of her stable when I brought my dad to meet her. He's 6'4". She got over it after about the second apple though...
