do horses give off 'bad' vibes?

as the title really.....

im only asking as where i keep my 2 horses there is a lady with a grey mare that my horses freak out at whenever it comes in the school!

both will literally run away with me to try and get away from it. They become very jumpy and will sometimes just stop in the school and watch it round.....like expecting it to do something....as soon as they are away from it/out of the school they instantly relax and settle down. they also work well with any other horse, including stallions...

the lady constantly seems to fight with it and i have never seen her with it without a market haborough. i know of other horses who are unsettled by the mare, but the rider is also very ignorant of others in the school and will just barge through your schooling exercise.......

someone suggested its the colour? being grey? but my boy whose seen 100's of grey horses has NEVER been affect by this colour before.....

so could it just give off unsettling and 'bad' vibes?????

Not so much bad vibes - but just like people, they can assert their personality - I have a horse (lets call him Harry, for that is his name) can just glance at the youngest horse in the field, for him to retreat, at speed to wait his turn in the packing order to come in.......

But the grey coming into the school with all the accessories might be giving out other messages - and I doubt it is about pecking order and submission to a superior being (as in the case of my Harry) more about the other horses sensing the anxiety of the poor animal who is being strapped down, and saying to themselves - exit right lads / lasses - it might be us in a minute......!!

i have to admit both horse and rider scare ME! s**tless!!!! let alone my horses
cant put my finger on it but there is something there...horse has never done anything 'bad' but i dread riding with it.

the rider doesnt help....you can be doing a specific schooling exercise which is very clear and then horse/rider will just come along doing 1 time changes right across your path...very un-nerving
 
Agree with Tallyhohoho, some horses can give off bad vibes to some horses and some people, just like some people can to some people and some horses. I also think that some horses give off good vibes to some people, the horse you know you will take home as well as the one you know would never fit in.

both horses are the 'dominant' horses in their fields....

but i never considered the fear element...i wonder if thats the vibe its giving off....both my horses are very sensitive to that sort of fear/stress 'thing' and would easily pick that up!
 
Yes, I own one!
Whenever I catch my mare or handle her, the first thing she does is assert her authority over me! She has various ways of doing it so that she keeps me on my toes, and my legs shaking. When she is trying to talk to me, or get her message across, I have learnt to listen!!
She is the first one like this Ive ever owned. Its not nice to be the owner.
Once she is tacked up she can be fantastic to ride, although some days she likes to assert her authority over me/other horses in company too. She does this by breathing heavily, arching her neck and basically behaving like a maniac! She likes to try and get to the front if in company, but does not want to lead once she is there!!!!!!!! Very horsey, and shes taught me a lot. On a good ridden day, shes the best in the world.

Maybe your horse is picking up on your feelings about the horse and rider, you might be on edge waiting for something bad to happen?
