Just as it says really. Do hunting yards charge to take an owners horse hunting to get the sparkle outta the system. The details are:

Using the owners car and trailer so no cost on deisel etc. but one guy has to drive and taking two of her horses so two riders and out for three hours so in essence is 3 people and 5 hours in time. She also pays the cap.

What is the thinking on this any help please.... :)
 
You'll probably get more response to this in the hunting forum....

Is it a horse on full hunting livery - ie being kept on full livery plus being got fit, plaited, taken to the meet, picked up at the end of the day, washed off etc etc ??

Or is this a yard from which the majority of the liveries or the YO hunt?, but the horse is on normal livery?

If the horse is on hunting livery, then it should be included in the cost, but if it is an extra service, then I think the owner would be asked to contribute towards it. Having said that, if the horse's owner is providing the transport, then it could be argued that the cost of the driver could be offset against that.

I think it's something open to negotiation.....
 
If she was taking a couple of others and her daughters then she wasnt bothered as they were on hunting livery. But the hunter liveries have their own boxes. So it was just if they were all going she would drop them off and pick them up. Otherwise I would expect to have to pay.
 
Depends on the services contracted for, what is included in the livery fees.

One hunting yard near us doesn't charge but they only take full livery and they do all the work regardless of who rides the horse. The cost is all built into the livery fees.

But another yard specialising in hirelings will charge because they have to pay the cap and pay the groom's wages for the day - regardless of what they do.
