Ok being very quick as getting picked up in like 5mins for a balti! Did Pidge tonight and he has a soft swelling above his fetlock on his bad leg. It was hot! so cold hosed for a good 5 mins. there is also a small scab on it which I haven't spotted before - so could have been done last night on electric tape. So could this be a windgall? If so could this have caused his lameness last Sunday? Do I call the vet back out tomorrow or wait till a week on Tuesday? I'm inclined to call vet out tomorrow to have another good look at him, especially with this hot swelling on his bad leg. Advice needed yet again please? Will be back online about 9.30ish! thanks in advance everyone - one stressed Suey

Why not speak to your vet on the phone and let him decide whether or not he thinks he should look at it. At least it will put your mind at rest.

Sorry Pidge, not seen previous posts so not up-to-date with the situation, but H has offered excellent advice IMO - call the vet & discuss over phone. He may suggest a bit more cold-hosing before coming out but depends on what has already occured. Probably best to cold-hose for longer though - 5 mins is not really enough...

thanks Sal and H, did mean to say cold hosed for 10 mins but was rushing to type before getting picked up. So speak to vet tell them what has happened and see if he wants to come out earlier?

thanks Stephen and BB, I will be on the phone first thing in the morning to the vets. Does anyone know if it is a windgall whether that causes lameness?
Was a lovely balti yum yum
