I work at a TB stud in the mornings and as well as breeding they also have horses in training on board when they are slighty stale or recovering from an injury or a big race. Sometimes they stay for up to 6 months. Anyway, I try not to but I have a favorite who went back to the trainer on monday, they have decided that racing is not for him.
So to cut a long story short- knowing that I have a soft spot for him the stud owners have asked if I would be interested in having him

I already have a lovely horse who takes up any of my extra time as it is but this TB is stunning, amazing conformation (inc good feet shock horror!) is very althletic, lovely temp and has all the qualities to make a very nice comp horse. I am very tempted, I also have a spare stable at the moment.
I don't know what to do, I can afford another one but I am umming and ahhing what should I do!?!

- I f you can afford it and you have the time and you think it will be suitable for what you want to do I say go for it!

I know if I don't I will be kicking myself!- Would hate for him to end up somewhere horrid, but my boyfriend might actually kill me! Oh dear I think Im going to end up with another one aren't I
If it wasn't for the fact that summer is around the corner I would probably say no but all I can think is the evenings are getting lighter it can live out for the summer....................lol!

Go on, you know you want to

Actually, it rather sounds as if the pros and cons have been weighed up in his favour already.

Just be extra nice to your boyfriend?

Does he have to know? I used to buy horses, put them in a field and then do the "Oh that old thing, I've had it for ages" routine, it never worked but my lovely OH doesn't care what I buy as long as I don't flog his truck to finance it!

Good Luck if you decide to take him on.

If you have the space and money then i would say go for it.
You need to think how you would feel if you said no and they gave him to someone else?

go for it! i ummed and ahhed about whether to get my pony whom i had a soft spot for and what it boiled down to was that i couldn't bear the thought of someone else having him...and the fact that his headcollar has been hanging on the back of my door for months as way of reminding me of him!

if you don't try i think you may regret it later

I definately would if I could afford to. I think you will only regret it if you don't! And if it doesn't work out you can sell him on to a good home (it sounds like he wouldn't be difficult to sell either).
Tell your boyfriend he's a financial project and then just forget to sell him
