Hi all,

I am wanting to try the tom thumb bit on my boy as i don't feel the three ring gag is really the best thing on him anymore and a few people have suggested it to me so i am going to give it a go! In some bits i have heard due to the action and the fit that some are best to be bought half an inch bigger than the normal (snaffle) bit size. Its likely i will put bit guards on this bit as it is a loose ring and i always worry about pinching. He is normally a 6 inch but should i get a 6 and a half?

Thanks in advance all!

I used to use this bit for xc and had one in the same size as my snaffle, didn't notice any pinching.

Same as Farma - I'd go up a size for a Waterford, but you should be fine with the same size as usual with a Tom Thumb :)
