So i've been back at uni in Preston a week...
I've not ridden all summer due to the usual constraints of working stupid days/hours/ money/ time (& obviously not having my own horse). It's driven me mad, its actually the longest ive ever gone, even when i wasnt supposed to ride for a year after surgery (i was back on for a potter after 7 weeks and back riding propperly by 5 months...

So now my problem is- i was planning to either
1. be driving by now and drive myself for lessons once a week
or 2. in the now event of me still not driving- join the uni riding club.

However the price for joining has gone from £10 last year to £30, plus the £70/80 because you have to be a uni gym member. Then its another £18 per week to get there & ride on a HUGE group lesson.

I am a typical student- as in skint! so is it worth it, or do i just cope without until i can eventually pass my damned driving test?
Is it a blatent P*** take?
any coments to help me decide appreciated. thankies xx

Those fee's are huge!Double what we pay at uni!!

It does seem expensive, but i guess as you aren't driving it does provide transport for you, and even though you are spending a lot you will have the gym membership(assuming you want this!) and it gives you the opportunity to ride, which im sure you are missing a lot

Plus, riding with uni is a fantastic way to meet new horsey people

well i doubt i would ever use the gym membership, other than to be able to join the riding club... i have another test coming up so i will wait and hope that i manage to pass this time and hope theres still room for me to join...

Thanks for the reply

What do you pay at uni, and what uni are you at?

It is expensive but I've just graduated from Preston and when I was at the swim club we were supposed to join the gym and pay membership but most people didn't bother so you could always try that. If not I don't think I would go cos it's so expensive I would save the money until you pass your test.

Thanks guys.
KMW- that's why i didnt join last year- because they insisted i had to be a gym member but its rly expensive and i hat gyms.

Booboos- yeah i think i will give that a go, but i tried last year with no success and also over summer at home, also no luck... its pretty rubbish up here for finding sharers
