I would like to be on a yard where......

I can have part livery in the week
I can have DIY at the weekends
I can ride in the evenings (after work, get to yard for 7 - 7.30)
My horse is well looked after.
I am not asked to pay more than £80.00 per week.

Am I asking for the impossible?! If not, where can I find it?! I live by junction 8 of the M25

round here - you are optimistic on the price tbh

you might find something if you look out albury way for that money though

Its not completely impossible, surely. At my yard, which is absolutely wonderful, very friendly and has excellent facilities and care, with loads of people riding in the evenings, what you are after would cost you £90/week. However, we are out in the sticks in Beds/Bucks, and i would have thought that Sussex would be a fair bit more expensive.

Good luck in your search, though.

i have just taken on my own yard and i would not charge you anymore than £75 per week for that. sorry i am full and not in your area

that probably describes my yard! but not sure there taking liveries at the moment, and think we are a bit far from you

Our yard does full livery monday - friday for £66 per week. It doesnt include riding but the horses are really well looked aftre and the school is almost always empty in the evenings! It may tak eyou a while to get there each day from M25 though! Good luck with your search....

I've seen a few places that offer livery for £400 - assisted in the week and then you muck out at weekends - you won't get true DIY at weekends though I doubt.

Have you tried Huntersfield in Banstead?

I do, but I keep the boys in Essex - off J26 of the M25.

I pay £27.50 for the stable and grazing and my livery bill for full livery, t/o, b/i, feed, rugs and muck out is £6 a day. I can chose to have full, assisted or complete DIY livery on a daily basis, but I tend to have a set pattern of two days full and five days assisted with summer weekends as DIY.

Only thing I've found is that if you go to a DIY yard and pay for full livery you'll never get the facilities or standard of care for your horse. I know this is a vast generalisation but I can only go by what I've experienced or seen for myself!

I'm ducking out the way so I don't get flamed!!

Bob Gregory does that in Bookham but think he charges £100 a week. My YO also might do something like that for you but not sure how much it would cost

I am not a commercial livery yard but do offer livery, internal stables at least 2 acres per horse etc.. but only charge £20 p/w for stable and turnout.. excellent hacking quantocks/exmoor but no school!

Think I am well too cheap but then i am picky who i have and only 2-3... so........

Where abouts are you based in London? I am at a lovely yard nr London that offers all of the above and at a reasonable price.

In chelsea but i do a school run over to south of the river - so ideally need to be s.london/surrey.......

finding it difficult to get a yard that has decent turnout (obviously there's bit of a land issue around London but my boy does need to go out!)

Where's yours Katie
