My mare is generally no different to ride when she comes into season, except yesterday's antics which resulted in a lunge before getting on!
She is quite vocal, pees quite a bit and flirts like crazy. I guess these aren't really reasons to put her on any 'moody mare/ hormone' supplements but is there anything out there that takes the edge off, not just for me but for her to be more comfortable?
Is it just worth letting her get on with it as she's not dangerous etc or do you think like a human and help to relieve symptoms??

Global herbs is very good but I don't give Nadia anything like that now. I did the trial for a few years and found that it didn't make a HUGE difference so saved my money.

Genie is on Oestress and it has made a huge difference to her attitude, even my trainer has commented on it! It used to often take us the whole hour to do one simple thing, now we find we have loads of time to do stuff as she is shutting up and getting on with it!

Active ingredient in Oestress and many Global products for mares is Vitex agnus-castus AKA chastetree berry powder. I would, however, recommend a 1:2 strength liquid for here:

You can buy powdered form on same site.

Now that supplement labelling is becoming more transparent you will see ingredients listed on NAF Oestress. In fact the 1 Litre of Oestress has 288ml of Vitex tincture in - although it does not say which strength tincture.
