This morning I arrived at the yard and noticed one of my boys have a bald patch on his face. At first thought it must be the other one having taking a chunk whilst playing! But looked closer and on the surrounding hair, there are little white things at the end closest to the skin...!

The bald patch is about an inch wide, circular shape. I is totally bald to the skin, no signs or irritation or blood at all. If I scratch it he loves it, but then he loves a scratch anyway.

Have had a good look and he's got loads of these white things, but only on his head and neck...? And they don't seem to be moving! The other one has them too or course, but he's also really, really scurfy!

Any ideas?

They have had lice before. I can't find any live ones at all and they aren't itchy. They do look like eggs of some sort though.

If I treat them as though they are lice, can I Deosect the bald area?

Just had a google and it must be lice. Aargh again!!

I've recently wormed them using Panacur 5 day and Equest Pramox, surely this should have killed them off shouldn't it!?

Looks like my Tuesday evening is going to be spent Deosecting, yay!

If they are lice eggs, they will be impervious to any chemical including Deosect.
You will have to get them once they are hatched, so several treatments are necessary to make sure you get them all.

Am I better to wait till say Friday when I can see some live ones then? Thinking it would be pretty pointless doing it with little to no live ones?

There are different types of lice/mites, I think some burrow under the skin and others feed on dead surface skin so you won't necessarily see them.
